My story

My grandfather, a mechanical engineer by trade, enjoyed cutting stones and making jewelry for over 65 years. The finished pieces represented here are a life time of a hobby that he loved. As I have slowly organized them, I realized I needed to create a business to share them with the world; clearly there is more than one girl could ever wear!

Not only do I have these finished pieces but I also have thousands of stones and settings that are still waiting to be matched (stay tuned a list of gems will be coming).. Some of the stones he mined, from Afghanistan, Colombia, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) and the Kingman mines in Arizona. I also still have rough cut…turquoise, emeralds, opals (Australia) and so much more! Many of the stones have a story that I would love to share….I remember the days we went caving and mining in Afghanistan.

I started slowly at craft fairs, selling to friends at work and jewelry parties, and then life would get too hectic and I would pack it up for another time…so that time is now, I’m working on this website and trying to take it seriously. I am always at the DIRTY GIRL FARMERS MARKET, Andes, NY, and during the off season at the MARKET IN THE BARN, ANDES, NY. In 2019 I participated in the Lumberjack Festival, Deposit, NY, Cauliflower Festival, Margaretville, NY and the Holiday Bazaar at SUNY Delhi, I expect to participate in those and more this year.

If you are interested in making your own piece I have a wonderfully talented jeweler that I can work closely with…custom jewelry is in your price range! We have collaborated on many one of a kind affordable heirlooms.

Please contact me if you are interested in either a completed piece or stones.

There is so much to see and do in the Catskills..make the drive, you won’t be sorry!!
